WE HAVE A HISTORY HERE
We've been working with organs since 1988.
About UsLET'S BUILD SOMETHING GREAT
Located in Detroit, Covenant Organs is currently in its 30th year of business. Rick Helderop started the company in 1988 after completing his Master's Degree in Organ Performance at the University of Michigan where as a student he spent time working at the school servicing its many practice organs, the Fisk organ and Hill Auditorium's famous Frieze Memorial organ. Upon graduating, Rick spent the next few years apprenticing with technicians and organ builders from all around the country, eventually leading to the formation of his own company, Richard Helderop and Associates.
Throughout the years, Richard Helderop and Associates, now Covenant Organs, LLC, has worked with clients in Michigan, New York, Florida and California, among others. The company also became the first American firm to restore and install an American organ in Russia, completed in the 1990s (and again in 2017). Furthermore, Covenant Organs has restored many of the finest organ builders' instruments including E.M. Skinner, W.W. Kimball, Aeolian-Skinner, Moller, Casavant, Reuter, Schantz, Hinners and Barckhoff.
In 2017, Rick moved the company from the Russell Industrial Center to a building that he purchased in the upcoming Fitzgerald Neighborhood in Detroit. This relocation strategically positions Covenant Organs for its next 30 years of business as it offers ample space for operations and future projects.
The struggle for the good organ is part of the struggle for truth.
